I’m not feeling all that great today
This might the one to say goodbye
I thought I felt pretty low before
But this might the day that I don’t try
A lot of things I’ve maybe said and done
If I could I would surely take them back
But as it stands and the way I see it now
I’m slowly turning blue to black
Pretty sure the sun is going to rise again
Not to worried what I’ll leave behind
Some short and witty prose that I can say goodbye
I’ve made my peace and I am feeling fine
Chorus
The fireworks I’ve tried to send for help
By now I’ve sadly lost all track
Ladies and gentlemen if you’ll watch the centre ring
You’ll see me changing blue to black
Chorus

Blue to Black
It’s a long way home
Once again I find myself a cork amongst the waves
Drifting through the ocean, counting down the days
One eye on the picture that’s hanging in my mind
So I’ll sit and write this song to you because I have the time
An umbrella sits in every drink
There’s a drink in every hand
There’s a thousand margaritavilles
And countless one man bands.
See when I rock to sleep each night
I’ll take what I can get
But if there’s something better out there babe
Well, I haven’t seen it yet
It’s a long way home (x2)
So it’s late night conversations
And a grainy camera feed
Not exactly what we want
But it can get us what we need
So for now I’ll be the tourist
It’s a skin I know too well
And to spend my life in heaven
I’ll take my three days down in hell
It’s a long way home (x2)
Losing Interest
You’re losing interest in what you had before
Old and tired ways don’t seem important anymore
You crave for different scenery but just can’t find the door
You’re losing interest in what you had before
Losing interest in what you have become
You’ve ran away for so very long you’re out of miles to run
To your best recollection you used to be more fun
You’re losing interest in what you have become
You were waiting for the day to end
And now that day is done
You were hoping for a second chance
So go ahead and give yourself one
You’re losing interest, and it’s growing everyday
You’ve talked for so many years never saying what you meant to say
And if this is what you worked for where’s the real pay?
You’re losing interest and it’s growing everyday
Solo
So now you’re losing interest
Look for something new
Take away some layers and find the better you
Cuz after time sometimes lies will sometimes feel true
You’re losing interest, and that’s the best thing you could do
Just Like Sleeping
Doing up the laundry on the riverside
Smiling at her daughter as she plays nearby
So very tired now that old jim’s gone
But that little baby girl keeps her moving on
No time for sleeping
The river says lady won’t you take a rest
And she closed her eyes cuz the river knows best
River called the baby and the baby went in
And those little blue eyes won’t dance again
Looks just like sleeping (x2)
Instrumental break
No one pointed and no one blamed
Everybody loved her just the same
Not one person nothing bad to say
And everyone knew they both died that day
Just like sleeping (x2)
Instrumental break
Years went by as all years should
She always did the best she could
But she felt so empty and just not right
And she went down to the river one night
She said I don’t blame you river but you owe me this
Take me to the little girl I miss
And the river looked back to as if to say
Come right in and I’ll take the pain away
It’s just like sleeping (x2)
So she walked in the river and felt no fear
So very tired and out of tears
moon and the river looking on
She let herself be carried on
It’s just like sleeping
Twenty One Reasons
Don't want to jump to any conclusions
Until I've taken in the facts
All I know is every minute here
Is a minute I can't get back
You treat me like your dress rehearsal
Ready to take it on the road
What's the point of all these costumes
When we ain't even got a show
I've got twenty good reasons to leave you
But I've got twenty one that I should stay
Paid fifty cents to find out my day was going wrong
Certain things were not aligned
You think you'd be the one to comfort me
In these troubled times
I've got twenty good reasons to leave you
But I've got twenty one that I should stay
When you smile at me it's like the sunlight has hit my face
When you smile at me I forget all the reasons
I wanted to get away
Solo
I'm needing just a couple of reasons
Something good to tip the scales
We either have to sink this ship
Or get a brand new set of sails
I've got twenty good reasons to leave you
But I've got twenty one that I should stay
Try To Write You A Love Song
Whoever said that words don't hurt
Never talked to me
You ask me while we settle in the cab
"Why you have to be so mean?"
The night was almost over
Before we even got in the car
Nineteen blocks down broadway
Has never felt this far
Sometimes when I speak the words come out wrong
I'm thinking pretty soon you're going to want me gone
But I know it's in your heart that I belong
So I'll keep my mouth shut
And try and write you a love song
Walk in all eyes are upon us
Soft murmurs and some wine
Some quick hellos, you look great, and how you've been
Man it's been a long, long time
Cozy up to some friends and conversation
Share a laugh or two
I guess I must have let some words slip away
That creeped on over and offended you
Chorus
I've never had the words to say
How I feel about you today
Solo
I've lost count of all the times you've said
You just don't understand me
And if you listen through the aftermath
You swear you hear love tearing at the seams
Chorus
Times Is Hard
Got no money to pay the rent
Tell everyone that the checks been sent
Fall asleep just to pass the time
I've given up no the perfect rhyme
Times is hard x3
Hold that thought in a paper cup
Count your pennies but it isn't enough
Smile real pretty to get us on the bus
We don't get each other but we still got us
Chorus
You found me just in time to save the day
Please don't leave, but do you have to stay?
(solo)
Take the past, put it all behind
Lot's of "what"s and then "nevermind"s
Said some things that we never meant
Over all you are heaven sent
Chorus
